Do you know how many calories a serving of wine has? About 80. Or a serving of beer? Up to 100 or more. Wine and other alcoholic beverages are just empty calories. And do you know how much a serving of wine is? Its 5 fl. oz. Do you think you only get 5 fl. oz. of wine when you order a glass or wine at a restaurant or bar? Or the recommended serving of beer or hard liquor at a bar or restaurant . Think again. It’s usually much more. If you have having wine or beer or other alcoholic beverages on a regular basis consider how many extra calories you are consuming. It could be sabotaging your weight loss efforts…

In fact dietary guidelines here in the US only recommend one serving of wine (5 fl. oz.) for women and two for men a day.

What does alcohol do to you other than make you gain weight?

It can also cause:

  • Certain cancers, including breast cancer and cancers of the mouth, larynx, esophagus and liver
    • Stroke
    • High blood pressure
    • Cirrhosis of the liver
    • Suicide

And not to mention alcohol kills brain cells.
